This was a fantastic article…Kevin Roose in NYTIMES called The blockchain “the peer-to-peer ledger system that records cryptocurrency transactions and allows them to operate without a central authority.” (Same article as above) The IRS didn’t issue official guidance on the tax treatment of Bitcoin and other digital currencies until 2014.
