Google extended their employee work-from-home plans into next summer because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Businesses opened, only to close again. In-person school is up in the air.
And what about you? Has your client prospecting been on hold? Do you feel disconnected from customers because you can’t meet in person?
With no immediate end in sight, it’s time to develop a plan B to keep your business growing.
“I’m just kind of lost,” a friend recently shared, about in-person connection being indefinitely on hold. “It may be generational, in the sense that people our kids’ age are more comfortable with e-communications and people our age regard it as fundamentally less intimate and personal,” he added. In the past, he used email or phone calls only as the means to make personal contact–dinner, lunch, coffee, ballgame–not the end goal. Video conferencing has enhanced remote connecting. But how do you know if the other person is really focused on you, “when it’s so much easier to get distracted and multi-task when you are communicating by computer,” he further laments.
Well, my friend, help is on the way.
